Design & Visual Media Intern
Location: Remote
Hours: 10 - 20hrs/week

We are seeking a Research & Thought Leadership Intern to help strengthen the research backbone of our work and expand our institutional credibility.
Position Overview
The Design & Visual Media Intern will support the development of branded visual assets across MILK and related initiatives. This role focuses on translating educational and strategic content into clean, professional, and cohesive visual materials.
It is a brand-building position that contributes to how our organization is perceived publicly.
This role is ideal for a student or early-career creative in graphic design, digital media, visual communications, or a related field who is interested in mission-driven work and maternal health.
Core Responsibilities
Brand Design & Visual Assets

Create branded social media graphics (carousels, quote graphics, infographics)

Design templates for recurring educational posts

Maintain visual consistency across platforms

Support visual refinement of MILK and related initiatives
Long-Form & Institutional Materials
-
Format white papers and research documents into polished PDFs
-
Design presentation decks and educational slides
-
Create visually structured handouts and downloadable resources
-
Suggest visual data displays (charts, graphs, layouts)
Digital Presence

Assist with website visual updates as needed

Create promotional materials for events or launches

Develop visual assets for both educational and professional audiences
Brand Maintenance

Help organize brand assets (fonts, color palettes, templates)

Ensure alignment with established visual identity guidelines

Contribute ideas to strengthen brand clarity and professionalism

Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in:

Graphic design
-
Visual communications
-
Digital media
-
Creative arts
-
Or related field

Proficiency in Canva (required); Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus

Strong understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy

Ability to work within brand guidelines

Detail-oriented and deadline-conscious
