Digital Marketing Intern
Location: Hybrid-Remote
Hours: 10 - 20hrs/week

We are seeking a Research & Thought Leadership Intern to help strengthen the research backbone of our work and expand our institutional credibility.
Position Overview
The Digital Marketing Intern will support content distribution, audience engagement, and digital visibility for MILK and related initiatives. This role focuses on translating long-form educational and thought leadership content into accessible, consistent social media presence.
This is not a purely creative influencer-style role.
It is a strategic communications position focused on clarity, consistency, and professional brand growth.
This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional in communications, marketing, public health, digital media, or a related field who is interested in mission-driven work and maternal health.
Core Responsibilities
Content Distribution

Repurpose long-form content (white papers, essays, videos) into short-form posts

Draft captions for Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook

Schedule content using approved platforms
-
Maintain a consistent posting cadence
Community Engagement

Monitor comments and direct messages
-
Engage thoughtfully with our audience across platforms
-
Participate strategically in relevant online communities (e.g., doula and maternal health groups)

Identify recurring questions or themes within the community
Platform Management

Assist with Instagram stories and short-form video distribution

Upload and optimize short-form clips (Reels, Shorts, TikTok)
-
Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth)

Provide a brief weekly report on trends and engagement insights
Strategic Support

Assist in launching digital campaigns

Identify relevant maternal health awareness dates or trending topics

Recommend content opportunities based on analytics
Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in:

Communications
-
Marketing
-
Public health
-
Media studies
-
Business
-
Or related field

Strong written communication skills

Familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and short-form video platforms

Organized and detail-oriented

Self-directed and able to follow brand guidelines
Preferred but not required:

Experience with Canva or basic design tools

Experience scheduling content through platforms (e.g., Later, Meta Business Suite)

Interest in maternal health, women’s health, or mission-driven organizations
